Tourism Expo in Mpumalanga Province Bolsters Triland Partnership


City of Mbombela, Mpumalanga Province - The picturesque Mpumalanga province is again in the spotlight as it hosts the third annual Tourism Expo, a testament to its commitment to showcasing its vibrant tourism industry. The event, taking place at the Riverside Mall, City of Mbombela, Mpumalanga Province, has garnered substantial attention, drawing both local and international visitors seeking memorable experiences.


Last year, a select group of media outlets, including ourselves, explored Mpumalanga province during the Tourism Expo. This initiative, launched in 2021, has witnessed remarkable growth, showcasing the province's dedication to providing exceptional value to its visitors. With an impressive lineup of 34 exhibitors, 14 hosted buyers and tour operators, and a tailored tourism seminar for high achievers, Mpumalanga province is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that visitors have a memorable and enriching experience within its borders.


Mpumalanga's contributions to the Triland partnership have not gone unnoticed. Since its inception, the province has welcomed over 1.2 million guests for both business and leisure, strengthening the bonds of cooperation between Triland partners.


Xolani Mthethwa, Chief Executive Officer of Jakada Holdings, commented on the Expo's growth, stating, "We have seen a lot of growth in our expo from its inception in 2021, where we had 26 exhibitors and 7 hosted buyers and tour operators from various provinces exploring the tourism offerings. Last year, the number of exhibitors increased to 30, with 12 hosted buyers. This year, we have an impressive 34 exhibitors gracing our floor, along with 14 hosted buyers and tour operators."


The Mpumalanga Tourism Expo, running until October 1, 2023, promises to catalyse the province's tourism sector, further solidifying its position as a must-visit destination for business and leisure travellers. Visitors can look forward to an array of exciting experiences and opportunities to explore Mpumalanga's beauty and culture.
