LIINDOR, the newest musician to join the list of young,
radical artists who are carving the sound of alternative R&B in SA, announced his
debut project last Friday titled IS'QALO: THE BEGINNING, set for public release
this coming Friday, the 23rd of June.
The announcement was led with a cinematic trailer of the EP's motion picture,
shot and directed by budding filmmaker; Katlego Mavundla.
IS'QALO: THE BEGINNING is a 6-track oeuvre that underpins the progression of
modern South African music. It is a sonic cocktail that comprises eclectic blends
of R&B, Kwaito, and Hip-hop.
"I'm inspired by my peers who make music that sounds like a spiritual affair.
Today's sound is the best music of our time, and my offering resembles that. "
Aiding him in delivering this genre-bending output, 23-year-old LIINDOR teamed
up with fellow music revolutionists; Halo Yagami, SiBi, Cubin, Zama, and his real-
life cousin; Melanin, amongst a few others.
The marketing rollout of the project kicks off today with a pre-save campaign
designed to incentivise listeners for pre-saving the EP on Spotify, with a digital
'goodie bag' consisting of exclusive content, including a first-look of the motion
picture, a personal thank you note, and an exclusive song from the EP.
