The Kasi Worship Concert is set to make a powerful return to Moretele Park, Mamelodi, on November 30th, with a renewed mission: to unite the community through worship in the fight against drug addiction and poverty.
This year’s theme, “Step into Service,” calls on residents to come together and take action against social challenges through music, prayer, and community involvement.
“Our aim this year is to bring hope, healing, and transformation to Mamelodi,” said the event organisers.
“We believe that worship can empower individuals and local churches to actively address the issues of poverty and drug addiction in our communities.”
Headlining the concert is renowned gospel artist J Ross, whose unique fusion of contemporary and African gospel will set the stage for an uplifting experience. Joining him is Retief Burger, a worship leader known for his sincere and modern approach. Retief is deeply committed to leading people to the heart of the Father, and his passion for the church is reflected in his work of making disciples and serving in his local congregation.
The lineup also includes Keke Phofolo, Abathandwa, Chantell Krishnasamy, and local Mamelodi choirs, showcasing the vibrant heritage of African worship. Special collaborations between J Ross and these choirs will blend modern and traditional worship styles, culminating in a powerful live prayer and worship segment.
“We want this concert to be a time for everyone to connect with God and with one another,” the organisers added.
“This isn’t just a concert; it’s a movement. We hope that attendees will leave feeling spiritually refreshed and inspired to serve their communities.”
A distinctive feature of this year’s event is its focus on addressing Mamelodi’s urgent social issues. Attendees will have access to resources and information on community service initiatives aimed at combating poverty and drug addiction. This emphasis on community engagement is central to the concert’s vision of creating lasting, meaningful change.
The concert is expected to draw up to 15,000 attendees, with tickets available at an affordable price of R120 through iTickets. The event is designed for families, young people, and churchgoers from Mamelodi and neighbouring townships. Local churches and youth groups have played an active role in promoting the event, with early bird promotions and group discounts encouraging broad community participation.
With its mission to unite the community against drug cartels and address poverty, the Kasi Worship Concert is expected to gain significant media attention. The theme “Step into Service” resonates with local leaders and activists, transforming this event into a significant social movement rather than just a musical gathering. Media partners Impact Radio, City Gates, and TBN Africa will be covering the event, amplifying its message of unity and transformation throughout Tshwane.
