In a celebration of resilience, talent, and unwavering faith, gospel luminary Zanela "Zaza" Mokheti commemorates an impressive 20 years in the music industry. The 45-year-old musician and songwriter, known for her soul-stirring performances, shared her reflections on the challenging yet fulfilling journey with Ledikwa Media.

Zaza acknowledged the trials she faced, emphasising that her path in the industry was far from easy.

"It wasn't an easy journey; there were many challenges. But I'm happy I was called to heal," she shared.

The Calvary hitmaker expressed gratitude for the divine calling to use her voice as a vessel of healing, noting that, through the years, she has touched numerous lives.

"I'm doing God's work, and people must expect more from me," Zaza declared.

With an impressive career spanning two decades, the gospel star credits her success to the talent bestowed upon her by the divine.

"I am grateful for the talent that God gave me. I've been a light to the masses," she added.

Hailing from the township of Kwa-Thema on the east side of Johannesburg, Zaza reminisced about her journey, highlighting the lessons learned in persistence and resilience.

"So far, the industry has taught me to be persistent and resilient," she affirmed.

Zaza's professional journey commenced during her high school years, evolving through participation in theatre productions, including performances abroad for the Africa Africa Musical show. The turning point came when she joined the acclaimed Joyous Celebration, contributing to the now-iconic song, "Namhla Nkosi," which introduced her to a global audience.

The seasoned artist reflected on her evolution, noting that she recorded three albums under a previous label before establishing her recording label, Zahza Holdings, in 2015. Under her label, Zaza has recorded four live DVD albums, showcasing her versatility as an artist and entrepreneur.

"I've learned that the gospel is called for all to preach, but few of those are chosen. It’s a lonely and not an easy route to follow; there are so many difficulties and challenges that you face when you’re called," Zaza shared, offering a glimpse into the profound realities of her chosen path.

Through it all, the gospel star emphasised the importance of wisdom, strength, and unwavering trust in God. As Zaza embarks on the next chapter of her musical ministry, her 20-year legacy stands as a testament to her enduring dedication to spreading messages of faith, hope, and healing through the power of gospel music.
