GET READY FOR THE FIRST EVER INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE CHAMP AWARDS

The Ntombhi Ya Mutsonga Foundation in partnership with Old Mutual Foundation, will hold its 1st Annual Indigenous Language Champ Awards in Limpopo Province at Malamulele Community Hall on June 16,

2023. These awards aim to honour Indigenous Language Champ Awards, promote literature,

and recognise linguistic divergence. Moreover, the ILCA Awards recognise outstanding teachers and learners in Indigenous Home Languages.


These are the categories for 2023: Best Indigenous Speller, Best Indigenous Reader, and Best Indigenous

Poet of the Year. Strictly, participation is restricted to learners from selected schools.


These are the 20 chosen schools for the Indigenous Language Champ Awards 2023: Ripambeta High

School, Shikundu High School, EPP Mhinga High School, Xihlovo Primary School, Ximixoni Primary School, Magangeni Primary School, Nhombelani Primary School, Mudabula Primary School, Khatisa High School, Dlamani High School, Joas Phahlela Secondary, Nkhavi Primary School,Nghomunghomu School, Atlein High School, Jilongo High School, PP Hlungwani Secondary School, Shigalo Primary School, Hlalikweni Secondary School, Shirilele High School.




Guests can anticipate an artistic and authentic African experience with performances by cultural groups, traditional artists, indigenous poets, dancers, comedy and choir with Just Jb and Tinyiko Cash as program directors.

Mfundhisi, Cool B, Chavi CMC (comedy) Sarafina, Mango Groove Dance Group and EPP High School Choir.
